I came up with the rope gag to solve a problem I had and stumbled onto a tremendous tool. The rope gag is slow which allows time for the horse to understand what you are asking him to do. If your goal is to have a well broke horse that carries itself in a natural position (collected). This is a tool that will help you achieve that. It helps eliminate push, heaviness, and highhandedness and overall bad attitude. I personally have witnessed this bit help people reclaim, and retrain horses with horrible problems in a short period of time that couldn't have been done without it. It's extremely easy to use and extremely easy for the horse to understand. It's used every day in the barns of some of the best trainers in the USA and abroad, including Reiners, Barrel racers, Cutters, Rope and ranch horses. We offer this in a full ring and a half ring. The main difference between the full ring and the half ring is that the half ring works like a shank because the mouthpiece is positioned in front of the rope.
I consider this the softest of our corrections. It has a 1/2". bar, more tongue relief than most corrections with a longer transition between the port and the bar. Not tall enough to get to the roof of their mouth . An excellent transition bit from the Ported D to a shanked bit.
