I came up with the rope gag to solve a problem I had and stumbled onto a tremendous tool. The rope gag is slow which allows time for the horse to understand what you are asking him to do. If your goal is to have a well broke horse that carries itself in a natural position (collected). This is a tool that will help you achieve that. It helps eliminate push, heaviness, and highhandedness and overall bad attitude. I personally have witnessed this bit help people reclaim, and retrain horses with horrible problems in a short period of time that couldn't have been done without it. It's extremely easy to use and extremely easy for the horse to understand. It's used every day in the barns of some of the best trainers in the USA and abroad, including Reiners, Barrel racers, Cutters, Rope and ranch horses. We offer this in a full ring and a half ring. The main difference between the full ring and the half ring is that the half ring works like a shank because the mouthpiece is positioned in front of the rope.
This correctional mouthpiece is unique in the fact that the port is in the shape of a V instead of a U. When I first designed it, I was looking for more tongue relief in a correction , there's something in the shape of the V that I really don't understand but it had a real positive result . I can tell a marked difference between the V port and the U port. The V is a little more aggressive but in a positive way. The round bar is 3/8" with a 90* transition, the ball softens the transition and is not tall enough to make contact with the roof of their mouth .
